It's finally summer! Next up on the BLPOA calendar is Fun Day on July 4th! Be at the boat ramp at noon for all the excitment. There will be kid's games, the ever-popular goldfish races, a balloon toss and free hot dogs and drinks!
Then, the AGM will be happening on it's NEW date, August 9th - the weekend after the long weekend. Be there at 9:30 am for our guest speaker, Julia Philips, the Adopt-A-Pond Coordinator from the Toronto Zoo. She'll be talking about wetland conservation projects on and around your own property! You will also discover how to observe and protect common wetland species such as frogs and turtles by becoming a FrogWatcher or Turtle Tallier. The kids will love this one, too!
Here's a summary of last year's events:
The Annual
Corn Roast happened on September 27. In spite of some rain, a good time was had by all. Close to 100 people came out to enjoy the corn, sausages and bonfire.
TheAnnual General Meeting was full of surprises. There was a presentation by Paul Wiancko of the
Six Mile Lake Association about their activites, a chance to discuss
new business, and Mayor Bill Core spoke. Lots of people brought their
own mugs....Please click

Fun Day was another great event! The rain held
off, the food was delicious and a good time was had by all!
The Annual Pancake
Breakfast went off without a hitch. Over 200 breakfasts were served,
the silent auction items flew off the tables, the slide show was a hit
and everyone had a wonderful time! Please check out the supporters
page for a list of the businesses who donated silent auction items
to the event. Please consider patronizing these local merchants.
Pitch-In
Day was a huge success for the Lake. Loyal volunteers collected an entire
trailer load of litter and debris!
